Discover Phil's Marina Cafe

Phil's Marina Cafe located at 1194 Harbor Dr, Slidell, LA 70458, is the perfect blend of a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with exceptional seafood and views that are hard to beat. Nestled right by the water, this local gem offers a taste of Louisiana that keeps both locals and visitors coming back for more.

If you're in the area, it's easy to spot, thanks to the vibrant colors of the restaurant and the inviting outdoor seating area that beckons you to enjoy a meal with a view of the marina. Phil’s Marina Cafe is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience, with every detail thought out to enhance your time there.

For those who enjoy seafood, you’re in for a treat. The menu at Phil's Marina Cafe is loaded with options that cater to every taste. From crispy fried shrimp to fresh oysters, their seafood dishes are made with ingredients that come straight from the Gulf of Mexico. I remember ordering their signature fried catfish the last time I visited, and it was crispy on the outside, perfectly tender on the inside, and served with a zesty remoulade sauce. The flavors were exactly what I wanted-bold, fresh, and satisfying. It was no surprise to me that this dish is one of their top sellers.

One of the standout features of Phil's is its laid-back yet lively vibe. Whether you’re dining inside, where the walls are adorned with local maritime history, or sitting on the patio with the sounds of water lapping against the dock, the atmosphere feels right at home. Families, couples, and even solo diners can be found here, and everyone is treated like a regular. In fact, it's easy to strike up a conversation with the staff, who are always quick with a recommendation or a smile. It’s clear that they’ve built strong relationships with the local community over the years.

For those visiting for the first time, their appetizers are a great way to get a taste of the restaurant’s best offerings. The crab cakes and shrimp po'boys are among the most popular starters, and I’ve yet to try one I didn’t love. The portions are generous, so sharing with friends or family makes the experience even more enjoyable.

Looking for something a bit heartier? The grilled steaks and burgers at Phil's Marina Cafe don’t disappoint. I opted for their famous “Phil’s Burger” during a recent visit, and it came out juicy, perfectly cooked, and piled high with all the fixings. You can’t go wrong with a classic like this. And let’s not forget the sides-especially their seasoned fries, which complement every main course perfectly.

Phil’s also knows how to satisfy those with a sweet tooth. The homemade key lime pie is a must-try, and it’s the ideal way to end a meal. Light, tart, and just sweet enough, it’s always a hit, and I highly recommend saving room for it.

Not only is the food top-notch, but Phil’s also stands out for its commitment to quality service. The servers here go above and beyond to ensure your experience is memorable. You can expect your drink to be refilled regularly, and the kitchen staff is fast without sacrificing quality. On a busy weekend, it’s clear that the team here has perfected the art of efficient, friendly service.

Whether you’re a local looking for a casual dining spot or a visitor exploring the Slidell area, Phil's Marina Cafe offers a warm welcome and an unforgettable meal. The restaurant’s location by the water adds to its charm, and it’s a great spot for lunch or dinner, with a variety of dishes that are sure to please anyone in your group. Phil’s also has a great reputation for hosting events, so if you're planning a celebration or a get-together, this place should definitely be on your list.

For those who appreciate fresh, local ingredients paired with a laid-back atmosphere, Phil's Marina Cafe delivers an experience that perfectly encapsulates the flavors and culture of Louisiana. Whether you’re there for the seafood, the burgers, or the iconic key lime pie, it’s clear that Phil’s is a place that values both its food and its guests. You can count on quality, comfort, and a good time every visit.

  • My husband and I have been looking for a good seafood place to eat at for some time now. I'm so glad I found this place on Google. The food was sensational! The Chef had no problem making my food with very little salt. Thank you. We have been to so many places that just can't get my order right. I prefer to taste my food from spices other than a bunch of salt. Thank you so very much for getting it right the very first time. We will definitely will be going back soon. Jessica was awesome. She also had a big party to care for too but didn't let us slip through the cracks. We had the cheesy shrimp bread, seafood platter for my husband, and I had the grilled snapper in a butter&wine reduction with grilled shrimp and grilled veggies. It was all so delicious. Overall I give a 5 star rating. It's been a long time coming!

  • We were passing through Oak Harbor Louisiana on the drive to Florida from Denver. This place had good ratings and there’s very good reasons it did. The food was excellent. The service staff was all very friendly. It’s been in business since 1982. The fish was fresh cooked perfectly. I had catfish fillets that were some of the best I’ve ever had. Sat on the outer bar area overlooking the water and boats. It was beautiful. Definitely worth a stop here if you’re hungry and craving some seafood.

  • This was a planned trip so that we can get the ladies and the family cousins sisters nieces together for a lunch just to sit and talk and have fun. I was the Uber driver. I sat at the bar away from everyone else and I ordered a grilled tuna salad, it is something I love and I’ve gotten from different restaurants but nothing like this. When she brought out my salad, I was amazed, not only did it look awesome. It was awesome and the price was half of what I’ve been paying everywhere else. I do not live in Slidell or on the other side of the lake. I have paid upwards of $28-$32 for a tuna salad. This was $16.50 and it was totally awesome. It was good to sit there eat a salad drink an iced tea for under $20. We have gone back my wife and I I have ordered different things on the menu and their prices or not high like everyone else’s. I am so impressed with the price, the staff, and the food that it’s worth the drive across the lake to eat here not to mention the view from the boat Harbor. i’ve read other reviews and I get it. Some people may not be used to some of the seasonings that are used, but if you’re from the south, I don’t think there’s anything on their menu that you would be disappointed in and yes, I have gone back several times and tried different things. Never disappointed.!!!!!! just a heads up if you’re not there when they open plan on standing in line, the place is always busy in the locals know where the good food is not to mention the waitresses and staff are very friendly and happy to serve you.

  • The sunset!!! Had a great dinner with a party of 8. Walked in at 805pm, promptly seated and waited on. Great menu. Huge portions for the price. Everyone left happy, stuffed, and a few took some home. Our waitress had all but lost her vouce but still did an excellent job taking care of us. We walked out at 920pm, 20 minutes after close and they were in full clean up mode. We never felt rushed or bothered for beimg there late. One complaint. The tap water was horrendous. Tasted like crap. But with enough lemons we made it through. We will return again soon if our travels bring us back to the area.

  • A friend recommended Phil’s Marina Cafe, and I’m so glad they did! From start to finish, everything was incredible. My stepdad ordered the tuna and the portion was very generous, not to mention beautifully cooked. I went with the fried shrimp, Gouda grits, and a cup of gumbo. WOW! Every bite was amazing. The gumbo especially blew me away—I’m picky about gumbo, and theirs was absolutely perfect. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The menu is huge and much to be offered. They hand batter all their fried foods and not a box batter! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff made us feel right at home. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend!
